Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the smart phrase & translation detection work?
When you export a Voice Memo from iOS, Apple automatically names the audio file with your memo title (e.g. "Bonjour.m4a"). If you title your memo with a delimiter like "Merci - Thank you" or "Au revoir : Goodbye", our studio automatically separates the target phrase and the English translation into separate fields.
Are my audio recordings uploaded to your server?
No. The entire process runs 100% locally in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. Your audio bytes and files are packaged into the .coursilesson ZIP file in your browser memory and never leave your computer.
Which audio formats can I drop here?
You can upload Apple Voice Memo .m4a files, uncompressed .wav files, .mp3 clips, .aac, .caf, and .ogg files. All of them are packaged seamlessly for the Coursi mobile app.
How do I open the downloaded .coursilesson file on my iPhone?
The easiest method is AirDrop: right-click the downloaded .coursilesson file on your Mac, click Share > AirDrop, and select your iPhone. Tap Coursi to import all phrases instantly. Alternatively, save it to iCloud Drive and tap "Import Lesson" inside the Coursi app.
