Coursi Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to the Coursi mobile application (the “App”), developed and operated by Lancer Learning Communities (“we”, “us”, or “our”). Coursi is designed to help language learners record their language tutors or teachers and create customized audio flashcards to accelerate comprehension and retention.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. Our foundational design principle is simple: your personal learning materials and voice recordings belong to you and remain on your device.

2. Information We Do Not Collect (On-Device Architecture)

Unlike many modern cloud apps, Coursi is built with local-first architecture:

• Audio Recordings & Tutor Sessions: Any audio captured through the app is saved locally in the private sandbox directory of your device. It is never uploaded to our servers, stored in cloud buckets, or reviewed by us.
• Flashcards & Study Content: Any card metadata, tags, text, or progress scores you create are stored exclusively on your device storage.
• Personal Identity: We do not require you to create an account, register your email address, or link social media profiles to use the core features of Coursi.

4. In-App Purchases and Third-Party Payment Processing (RevenueCat)

Coursi may offer optional premium features, subscription plans, or one-time unlock purchases. Payments are processed directly through:

• Apple App Store: For purchases made on iOS/iPadOS devices.
• Google Play Store: For purchases made on Android devices.

We never collect, process, or store your credit card numbers, billing addresses, or payment credentials.

To manage, validate, and restore in-app subscriptions across your devices, we use RevenueCat(RevenueCat, Inc.). RevenueCat processes purchase receipts and generates an anonymous App User ID. The data transmitted to RevenueCat is limited to:

• An anonymous identifier generated for your app install
• Store receipt and transaction details (product ID, purchase timestamp, subscription status)
• Basic device metadata (device model, operating system version, app version)

5. Advertising and Analytics

Coursi contains no third-party advertising SDKs, no cross-app ad tracking, and no commercial data brokers. We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Because all audio flashcards and recordings are saved locally on your device:

• You can delete individual recordings or flashcard decks at any time directly within the app.
• Uninstalling the Coursi application permanently erases all locally stored audio recordings, cards, and data from your device (unless backed up by your operating system’s personal device backup, e.g., iCloud Backup or Google Drive).
• Because we do not store your recordings on our servers, we have no copies of your audio to access, retrieve, or delete.

7. Children’s Privacy

Coursi is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions such as the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and address it immediately.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Effective” or “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
